Officers from Indian Coast Guard Ship Vikram deputy commandant K Sarangi, Adhikari Naik Vijay Kumar, Pradhan Naik Sanoj, Naik Chandu, and Naik Rahul led the session, engaging students with informative insights into the dangers of drug abuse.

They discussed the types of drugs both legal and illegal causes of addiction like peer pressure and depression, and the various stages from experimentation to dependency. The team also highlighted the severe impact drugs have on mental health, personal relationships, and society.

The concept of the “5 Cs of Addiction” Chronic disease, Craving, Compulsive use, Continued use, and loss of Control – was also introduced, driving home the seriousness of substance abuse.

Students were encouraged to stay away from drugs, promote awareness through workshops and social media, and adopt a balanced lifestyle rooted in self-discipline and emotional strength.

School head Vaijayanthi Hegde lauded the efforts of the organising team and emphasized the importance of early intervention and youth involvement in shaping a drug-free society.

The session concluded with a powerful takeaway: “Attack the problem, not the person.”
