London, Jul 31: Ahead of the Premier League 2025–26 season, England international and seasoned right-back Kyle Walker has signed with Burnley, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to the club. Speaking exclusively to JioHotstar, the former Manchester City defender expressed excitement about his new journey, highlighting the influence of manager Scott Parker and his desire to mentor young talent.
"It's great," said Walker. "Being part of this project and seeing what Burnley have achieved over the last couple of seasons has been fantastic to watch. I already know some faces at the club, and I'm excited to get started."

Walker, 35, revealed that the move to Burnley came at the right time in his career. “I needed something different—a real family club,” he said. “My son trains at the Burnley ground, and the atmosphere there is special. You can sense the vision the owners have. I wanted to be part of that journey.”
On manager Scott Parker’s role in his decision, Walker was candid. “He’s been a massive influence. I admired his style at Fulham, and I know him personally from our time together at Spurs and for England. When someone like him calls, it means a lot.”
With over 410 Premier League appearances under his belt, Walker admitted he once thought it was time to move on. “Football is a strange and wonderful game,” he said. “I want to bring leadership to the dressing room and support the gaffer in every way I can.”
Walker also stressed his commitment to mentoring the next generation. “You start out as the young one, then you're the experienced voice. Now, I want to give back—not just to my teammates but to everyone who’s supported me. I hope to pass on lessons about football and life beyond the game.”
The veteran defender emphasised the importance of pre-season bonding. “That’s where real connections are built. I'm ready for my initiation song,” he chuckled. “But I’m not here thinking I’m above anyone. I’m a Burnley player now, and I want to achieve great things.”
To Burnley fans, Walker had a clear message: “I’ve played at Turf Moor before, and I know how tough it is for visiting teams when the crowd gets going. Let’s make it a fortress. Your support is crucial as we fight to stay in what I believe is the best league in the world.”
