Kasargod, Aug 7: A 48-year-old building owner, Roy Joseph, succumbed to injuries after allegedly being pushed from the third floor of an under-construction building by a contractor. The incident occurred on August 3 at Mavungal, near Moolakanda.
Roy Joseph, a resident of Peral, Vellikkoth and a native of Parappa in Alakode, Kannur, was running an aluminium fabrication business under the name RJ Aluminium Materials in Kanhangad. He was supervising the construction of a new building at the incident site when the alleged altercation happened.

According to reports, a dispute broke out between Roy Joseph and the contractor Narendra from Pullur over work-related issues. It is alleged that during the heated exchange, Narendra pushed Roy from the third floor of the building. Roy sustained serious injuries and was initially rushed to a private hospital in Mavungal before being shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru, where he passed away on Thursday morning.
Family members told police that Roy had informed them before his death that he had been pushed by Narendra. Based on the complaint, Hosdurg police have registered a case against Narendra under attempted murder charges and have taken him into custody for questioning.
