Mangaluru: Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrated with devotion at Brahma Kumaris

Mangaluru, Aug 10: Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with devotion, joy and spiritual fervour at the Brahma Kumaris Centre in Mangaluru on Sunday, August 10. The event aimed to recall the divine qualities of Lord Krishna and the life values of peace, love and truth.

The programme commenced with meditation and an inspiring discourse on the spiritual significance of Janmashtami by senior Brahma Kumari Vishweshwari.

The celebration was graced by Gopal Krishna Bhat, priest of Pejawar Math, Udupi; Purushottam, president of Daivadiga Samaja Sangha; Chandrashekhar Shetty, retired physical education director, Adamar; advocate Naina Rai; writer Anusha Alva from Team Jenugoodu; LIC agent Devidas Prabhu; and talented medical student Moksha Shetty.

A highlight of the event was the Sri Krishna fancy dress competition, which saw the participation of 20 children in three categories – Muddu Krishna (2–4 years), Bala Krishna (5–7 years) and Kishora Krishna (8–10 years). Dressed in Krishna attire, the young participants captivated the audience with their charming expressions.

Cultural programmes, devotional dances and dramas based on Krishna’s life added emotional depth to the occasion. The venue was adorned with flowers, lamps and spiritual decorations, creating a festive atmosphere.

The programme concluded with blessings, the distribution of prasada, and an invitation to imbibe Krishna’s values of love, truth and service in daily life.
