Anirudh turns to AI to beat creative block while composing for Rajini’s ‘Coolie’

Chennai, Aug 12: Music composer Anirudh Ravichander, fresh from the success of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, revealed that he used Artificial Intelligence to overcome a recent creative block. Speaking during promotions for Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie, releasing August 14, Anirudh said, “Two days ago, I was stuck with the last two lines of a song. I fed the details to ChatGPT, and it gave me ten lines. One sparked an idea, and I cracked the rest.”

The composer admitted to subscribing to the AI’s premium version for better results. He explained that AI helped him move past overthinking and finish the composition smoothly.

Sharing insights on Coolie’s soundtrack, Anirudh said he began the Chikitu Vibe track with T. Rajendhar’s beats and later added comedic elements inspired by Chandramukhi’s Raa Raa, especially after learning Soubin Shahir would perform alongside Pooja Hegde.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie features Rajinikanth in his 171st film. The first-look poster, released last year, showed him in a denim shirt bound by a chain of wristwatches. The film is set for a box-office clash with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2.
