Mangaluru, Aug 13: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday, August 12 used Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to search the 13th location identified by an anonymous informant near the Dharmasthala bathing ghat. However, no skeletal remains were found.
As most of the locations identified by the informant have yielded no remains, the SIT is reportedly considering subjecting the complainant to a narcoanalysis test.

Even when certain areas were dug up using an excavator, no evidence was recovered. Since July 28, the informant has identified 16 sites, but only two skeletal remains have been found so far. The search operation continued on Wednesday, August 13.
Sources indicate that, due to repeated failures to find remains at the informant’s suggested sites, the SIT may proceed with a narco test, considering it essential for the continuation of the investigation.
Although GPR scans have shown no signs of remains, the complainant has insisted on excavation at the locations mentioned in his statements, pressing for further digging.
SIT search may end soon?
According to sources, if no remains are found at the 13th site identified in connection with the Dharmasthala mass burial case, the state government may decide to halt the search operations.
Significant development
Amid these developments, SIT officials Pranab Mohanty and Anucheth met home minister Parameshwara at Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday for about half an hour. It is reported that they briefed the minister on the Dharmasthala case and discussed possible next steps.
