Mangaluru, Aug 14: In yet another case of moral policing, Pandeshwar police arrested six persons for allegedly harassing a college student and her male friend near the service bus stand in the city.

The arrested have been identified as Ganesh, Shreyas, Chintu, Chandan, Nagaraj, and Ramachandra. According to police, the incident occurred when the victim, a pre-university college student, was returning from college with her friend. After her friend left for home by bus, the student was seen conversing with a male acquaintance from another community, who is related to her friend.

A group of around seven to eight unidentified men reportedly blocked their way, questioned the girl about why she was with the boy and what they were talking about, and verbally abused them. They also allegedly issued life threats.

A police patrol vehicle soon arrived, and the student informed the officers about the incident. She later narrated the ordeal to her family and filed a complaint with their support. Based on the complaint, six suspects have been arrested, while efforts are on to trace the others involved.

Started again?None of their business to ask a girl who is not their family ,that too in a group .Questions too are not .Police should not only arrest but let them teach a good lesson by a heavy fine or arrest.
