Brett Lee warns Jadeja over sword celebration, predicts 100-test milestone

New Delhi, Aug 19: Former Australia pacer Brett Lee has cautioned Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja against overdoing his trademark sword-swinging celebration, saying it could risk an injury to his rotator cuff muscle.

“The thing with Jadeja, the only way I see him getting injured is doing a rotator cuff with the way he does a sword celebration. I love it, but look after your body. Don’t celebrate too hard,” Lee said on his YouTube channel on Sunday.

Jadeja, who scored 516 runs in the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test series against England, including five half-centuries and a hundred, retired from T20Is last year but continues to shine in Tests and ODIs.

Lauding Jadeja’s consistency, Lee predicted the 36-year-old will surpass the 100-Test mark for India. “Another 15 Tests, about two years. I think he’ll go past the 100 mark. He’s one of the best all-rounders we’ve seen,” he said.

Calling Jadeja a “factory-made cricketer,” Lee praised his fitness, versatility and determination. “He ticks every single box. He bowls accurately, gets through his overs quickly, is the fittest in the team and never shies away from big moments. He’s an entertainer and one of the best all-rounders in world cricket,” Lee added.
