Mangaluru, Aug 20: The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) will launch its new initiative, ‘Elevate Brand Mangaluru,’ on Saturday, August 23.
KCCI president Anand G Pai said, “Since its establishment in 1940, KCCI has consistently supported business growth in the region. Over the years, Mangaluru has grown into a hub not only for trade and finance but also for healthcare, education, and industries such as cashew processing and ice cream manufacturing. The city has a rich talent pool and immense potential for further development.”

Pointing to the need for diversification, he added, “Tourism is another promising sector. We need a sustainable model that brings all stakeholders together. The Elevate Brand Mangaluru initiative seeks to highlight what the city represents and collectively showcase Mangaluru to the global community.”
Athmika Amin, KCCI director and chairperson of the initiative, noted, “With more than 25 trade bodies affiliated to KCCI, the goal is to attract investors and businesses by boosting the city’s visibility on the right platforms. Mangaluru can emerge as a preferred destination for investment, business, and a balanced lifestyle. City branding should be a long-term, evolving strategy that positions Mangaluru on the global map.”
She added that Phase 1 of the initiative, to be launched on August 23, will introduce a set of projects. “There will be multiple phases, and their impact will be reviewed and reported over time,” she said.
On a question about nightlife in the city, Anand Pai remarked, “Mangaluru has a decent nightlife scene which is evolving. To make it sustainable, we need more footfall and investments from stakeholders.”
KCCI secretary Aditya Padmanabha Rao, vice president B Ahamed Muddasar, Ashwin Pai Maroor, and other dignitaries were also present at the briefing.
