Mumbai, Aug 22: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited applications to fill two vacancies in the senior men’s national selection committee soon after the announcement of the Asia Cup 2025 squad. Additionally, four positions have been opened up in the women’s panel.

As per the eligibility norms, applicants must have played a minimum of seven Test matches or 30 first-class games, or at least 10 ODIs or 20 first-class matches. The criteria remain unchanged from previous years.

“The contracts of selectors are renewed annually. We have not yet identified which selectors will be replaced, but the process will be undertaken shortly,” a BCCI official stated.

The current men’s selection committee, headed by former India pacer Ajit Agarkar, also includes SS Das, Subroto Banerjee, Ajay Ratra and S Sharath.

Junior and women’s selection committees

The Board has also sought applications for a member in the men’s junior selection panel, which handles age-group teams up to Under-22 for tours, camps, and tournaments. This role is likely to be that of the chief selector.

Meanwhile, the women’s national selection committee — currently chaired by Neetu David, with Renu Margrate, Arati Vaidya, Kalpana Venkatachar, and Shyama Dey Shaw — is also set for changes, with four new positions being opened. The panel recently met to finalise India’s squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup at home.
