Karkala: One arrested in Mangaluru-native financier murder case

Karkala, Aug 26: Police have arrested one person in connection with the murder of financier Naveen Poojary, who was found dead on Tuesday, August 26 morning at Kuntalpady, Karkala.

The accused has been identified as Parikshith Sanjeev Gowda, a bus driver and native of Mangaluru.

Hariram Shankar, superintendent of police, Udupi district, said Parikshith was separated from his wife and was living in a rented house in Doopadakatte, Karkala. The deceased, Naveen, was also living alone after separating from his wife and children. Investigations revealed that Naveen had developed a close relationship with a woman who was also acquainted with Parikshith. Police said Parikshith disliked this and it led to the fatal stabbing on Tuesday morning.

Based on CCTV footage and technical evidence, police arrested Parikshith. Investigation is ongoing.
