St Agnes College's commerce dept launches ITR & GST certificate course

Mangaluru, Aug 29: The Department of Commerce, St Agnes College (Autonomous), organised the launch of the certificate course on ITR & GST on August 28 in A4 Avila Block.

The event was compered by Sr Valenteena, who conducted the session with grace and efficiency.

The distinguished guests for the occasion were CA Daphny D’Souza, chartered accountant from Mangaluru, and Rojer K M, founder and director of Business Intelligence Lab, Mangaluru.

CA Daphny D’Souza addressed the audience. she emphasised the importance of practical knowledge in filing Income Tax Returns (ITR) and understanding Goods and Services Tax (GST), which are essential for aspiring commerce professionals.

Rojer K M spoke about the growing relevance of data, technology, and business intelligence in taxation practices, encouraging students to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and industry application. The certificate course on ITR & GST was then officially launched in the presence of the dignitaries, marking a significant step toward enhancing the practical competencies of the students.

The head of the department of commerce, Vineetha N T, and the staff coordinators, Nimitha K and Fredvin Crasta, were also present.

The launch ceremony was both inspiring and informative, setting the stage for a valuable learning journey in taxation and GST for the students.
