New Delhi, Aug 30: Pop sensation Taylor Swift and American football star Travis Kelce are officially engaged, and fans worldwide are celebrating the couple’s joyous news. Among the well-wishers was actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani, who took to Instagram to express her delight.

Sharing a heartfelt note on her Instagram stories, Irani wrote, “The joy at this end of the world probably makes no sense; the euphoria for this age group in this part of the world makes no sense...but then that’s what love does...always a sucker for a nice end to what seems to be a fairy tale...watt a life.”

The Grammy-winning singer and Kansas City Chiefs tight end announced their engagement on Instagram on August 26, captioning the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” Photos from the proposal show Kelce on one knee, hugging Swift in pure joy, with a close-up of her stunning square-oval engagement ring. The wedding date has not yet been revealed.

Rumours of the couple’s romance began in summer 2023, after Travis Kelce attended Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium. Since then, their love story has captured fans’ imaginations across the globe.

Smriti Irani, currently in the spotlight for reprising her iconic role as Tulsi Virani in the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi reboot, celebrated the engagement as an example of love transcending borders.
