Farhan Akhtar confirms ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ still on cards, but on back burner

Mumbai, Sep 1: Four years after the buzz-worthy announcement of Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif starring together in Jee Le Zaraa, director Farhan Akhtar has confirmed that the project is still alive, though currently on the back burner.

In an interview with the YouTube channel Our Stupid Reactions, Farhan said, “I would hate to say that it’s shelved. It has been put on the back burner. It is a film that will happen. Again, I don’t know when it will be. But it’s too delicious a script and so much work has already been done on it.”

The filmmaker, known for hits like Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, and the Don series, hinted that the originally announced cast — Priyanka, Alia, and Katrina — may not necessarily be part of the project anymore. “I can’t comment on the cast anymore… but will the film happen? The film will happen,” he added.

Farhan has reportedly completed location scouting and recorded music for the film, leaving only the timeline and final casting to be decided. The project was first announced on the 20th release anniversary of Dil Chahta Hai, generating massive excitement among fans.

Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming war drama 120 Bahadur, in which he plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who led the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 India-China War. The film is slated to hit theatres on November 21.
