Kundapur: Temple committee head booked for misconduct with woman

Kundapur, Sep 6: Amasebail police have registered a case against a man from Kundapur taluk for allegedly misbehaving with a woman who had visited his house to deliver an invitation.

According to police, the incident took place on September 2 at Manimakki, Rattadi village. The complainant, a 29-year-old service representative of the Dharmasthala Self-Help Group, had gone to hand over an invitation for the Dharmarakshana Yatra programme scheduled on September 5.

The accused, identified as Naveenchandra Shetty, who also serves as the head of the Ratteshwara Temple Management Committee, allegedly touched the complainant inappropriately while receiving the invitation. He then reportedly pulled her close and kissed her on the cheek against her will.

Shocked and embarrassed, the woman immediately left the house and later filed a complaint. Based on her statement, Amasebail police registered a case. Investigations are underway.
