New Delhi, Sep 9: The inheritance battle over late industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s Rs 30,000 crore estate has reached the Delhi High Court, with his two children from Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor filing a civil suit seeking their rightful share.
The siblings, represented through their mother, have accused stepmother Priya Kapur of forging Sunjay’s will to seize complete control of his assets. They have demanded partition of the estate, disclosure of all properties, and a permanent injunction against the defendants.

According to the plaint, Priya first denied the existence of a will, claiming the assets were under the R.K. Family Trust, but later produced a document dated March 21, 2025, raising suspicions of forgery. The children allege she has concealed crucial details and blocked access to trust and corporate records.
The dispute names Priya Kapur and her minor son, Sunjay’s mother, and an alleged executor of the contested will as defendants. The plaintiffs contend that Sunjay had assured them of financial security, initiated ventures in their names, and repeatedly expressed commitment to their future.
Sunjay Kapur died suddenly on June 12, while playing polo in Windsor, UK. His son lit the funeral pyre at Lodhi Cremation Ground on June 19. Soon after, tensions escalated, with the children alleging Priya restricted their access to documents and pressured them to sign corporate papers without full clarity.
The case has now set the stage for a high-stakes courtroom showdown over one of India’s largest industrial fortunes.
