Don't the cattle make noise when being taken away by the thieves during odd hours ? May be these robbers got a special technique to calm down the cows. Poultry robbers usually use wet bed sheet or a Lungi and throw over the hens/roosters . I have witnessed such incident personally during my childhood days!
