Rudiger faces two-month layoff after muscle injury

Daijiworld Media Network – Madrid

Madrid, Sep 13: Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger suffered a muscle injury in his left leg during Friday training, with reports suggesting he could be sidelined for around two months. Scans revealed an injury to his rectus femoris muscle, though the club did not confirm a specific recovery timeline.

The 32-year-old German international has made just one La Liga appearance this season. Despite battling injuries last season, Rudiger featured in 55 matches for Real Madrid. The club recently strengthened its defence with 20-year-old Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth and is reportedly eyeing Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate for the future.

Real Madrid face Real Sociedad in La Liga on Saturday and host Marseille in the Champions League on Tuesday.
