Kundapur: Youth killed, another injured after motorcycle hits Sambar Deer near Kamalashile

Kundapura, Sept 13: A tragic road accident occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, September 13, near Tarekudlu, close to Kamalashile, when a moving motorcycle collided with a sambar deer that suddenly crossed the road.

The rider died on the spot, while the pillion rider sustained serious injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Shreyas Mogaveera (23), a resident of Nellikatte. The injured pillion rider, Vignesh, has been admitted to a private hospital in Kundapura for treatment.

According to sources, the two friends had visited the Kamalashile temple earlier in the day and were returning to Nellikatte when the deer suddenly ran across the road. The rider lost control, struck the animal, and overturned, resulting in the fatal accident.

Shankaranarayana police visited the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case.
