MITK holds orientation programme for first year students' batch

Kundapur, Sep 17: Orientation programme for the first batch of first year students was held at Moodlakatte Technical College recently. The chief guest was Srinivas Prabhu, CEO of Code Zing, who inaugurated the programme. He narrated the challenges he faced in his early academic life and said that with continuous effort, self-discipline and his willpower, he gradually overcame these obstacles. He impressed the audience by saying that limitations can be converted into strengths with hard work and determination.

The vice principal, Dr Melwin D’Souza, emphasized the crucial role that parents play in a student’s educational journey, even after joining the college. The deans of various departments spoke and explained the facilities available in the college, the training provided by the placement department and other issues.

Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, director, Brand Building College, presided over the function and said that students are not just individuals but representatives of the institution and he spoke about the importance of maintaining discipline, developing a strong personal brand and working on soft skills like leadership, confidence and emotional intelligence. He encouraged the students to participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, workshops and events that contribute to their overall development.

Parents and students present were given an opportunity to share their views. Students Ishrat and Minaj compered the programme. Final year student Supreeta welcomed the gathering and Anish Poojary proposed a vote of thanks. First year students, parents and staff were present at the programme. The one-week induction programme provided training in various disciplines such as university policy, research, technology, art, English language, etc., by experienced resource persons.
