Mangaluru: Milagres College organises blood donation camp

Mangaluru, Sep 20: Milagres College, Hampankatta, in association with the Youth Red Cross, National Service Scheme, and Lions Club Milagres, Mangaluru, organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with Father Muller Medical College Hospital on September 20 at the Milagres College Auditorium.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Ln Philip, president of Lions Club Milagres. He highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and appreciated the joint efforts of the college and the partner organisations.

The event was inaugurated by Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions, who emphasised the vital role of youth in life-saving initiatives. Lion Ravishankar, region chairperson of district 317D, Region 1, graced the occasion as the chief guest, encouraging students to become regular blood donors. Dr Charu Khosla, blood bank officer from Father Muller Medical College Hospital, attended as the guest of honour and explained the medical significance and safety of blood donation.

Dr Alwin Serrao, principal and campus director of Milagres College, Shaila Moras (YRC programme officers) and Joel Mascarenhas (NSS programme officers) were present on the dais.

The programme was compered by Thameem of II BBA. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Sagar, Youth Red Cross secretary, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, the Father Muller Medical College team, Lions Club members, Milagres College management, staff, and all the enthusiastic student donors for their active participation.

A large number of students, faculty members, and volunteers came forward to donate blood, making the camp a remarkable success.
