Bantwal: Youth dies after falling into stone quarry

Bantwal, Sep 21: A tragic accident occurred in Kanchinadka Padavu when a youth fell into a stone quarry and died.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Ameer (23), son of Ummar, a resident of Sutrabail, Ullal taluk.

Ameer was unmarried and worked as a laborer. He had gone along with others for work in Kanchinadka Padavu in Sajipa Mooda village on September 20. After completing the day’s work, he reportedly fell into a half-covered red pit near the worksite.

The police and locals rushed to the spot, but Ameer was pronounced dead.

The exact circumstances of the fall are under investigation.
