First Pen Day celebration marks milestone for class IV students at Lourdes Central School

Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 24: The First Pen Day at Lourdes Central School was celebrated with great enthusiasm in class IV on September 23, with the theme “From pencil to pen – A journey towards maturity.” This day marked an important milestone in the academic journey of the students as they stepped into the stage of writing with pens instead of pencils.

The programme began with a prayer, followed by the inauguration and an English skit highlighting the significance of the day. The importance of neat handwriting and the responsible use of pens was explained to the students. A dance performance, a Hindi action song, and a Kannada song added colour and joy to the event.

After the performances, the pen handling ceremony was conducted by the principal Fr Johnson L Sequeira, vice principal Anita Thomas, academic coordinator of class 3-6 Suneetha K and PTEC members. The children then took an oath to symbolize their commitment and to promote integrity. They were thrilled to write their first words with their pens, and the joy and pride on their faces made the day truly special.

The event concluded with the school anthem. The celebration not only motivated the students to take care of their handwriting but also instilled in them a sense of responsibility in their academic journey.
