Mangaluru: World Pharmacists Day marked at Srinivas Pharmacy College

Mangaluru, Sep 26: Srinivas College of Pharmacy Mangaluru in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association, D K district, local branch celebrated 'World Pharmacists Day 2025' with the theme 'Think Health, Think Pharmacist'. On September 25 at Valachil campus of Mangaluru.

Dr Mohammed Naseeruddin Inamdar, principal, East West College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru was the chief guest inaugurated the World Pharmacists Day programme by lighting the lamp and spoke on the role of pharmacists and pharmacy practice in Drug Information Centres (DICs) in promoting rational medicine use.

Dr A R Shabaraya, principal and director, Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Mangaluru, in his presidential remarks he discussed the advantages and challenges of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in the pharmaceutical sector. Dr Krishnananda Kamath K, professor & HOD, department of pharmaceutics welcome the gathering and highlighted the role of pharmacists in modern healthcare. Dr Padamavathi P Prabhu, professor and HOD, department of quality assurance present during the programme.

As part of the celebration, students participated in a collage competition on 'Drug Abuse and AIDS' and an essay competition on 'The role of pharmacists in healthcare'.

Smitha C Rai, assistant professor anchored the programme. Dr Kumara Prasad S A, professor & HOD, department of pharmaceutical analysis, delivered the vote of thanks.
