Panaji, Sep 26: As part of World Tourism Day 2025 celebrations, the Goa Tourism Department, in collaboration with the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), SKAL International Goa, and the Yuva Tourism Club, hosted a series of immersive experiences over the past week. The events included a Heritage Walk at Aguada Port & Jail Complex, a Forest Stream Picnic at Bicholim, and a Nature Exploration at Carambolim Lake.

These initiatives aim to promote regenerative and experiential tourism, connecting students, stakeholders, and visitors with Goa’s rich cultural and natural heritage. Participants explored historical narratives at Aguada, relaxed by forest streams in Bicholim, and learned about wetland biodiversity at Carambolim Lake, highlighting Goa’s “Beyond Beaches” vision with a strong focus on conservation.

Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte said, “Through inclusive and diverse programmes, we are reinforcing Goa’s position as a leader in regenerative tourism. Blending heritage, nature, and community experiences allows meaningful engagement for students, stakeholders, and visitors.”

Director of Tourism Kedar Naik added, “These activities provide insights into Goa’s ecology and heritage while sensitising participants to sustainability and responsible travel. The enthusiastic participation from schools, colleges, and tourism partners encourages us to expand such initiatives under the Yuva Tourism Club.”

The celebrations will continue with a Tourism Stakeholders’ Meet at Grand Hyatt Goa and a Film Festival at ESG, showcasing Goa’s heritage and conservation stories as part of World Tourism Day 2025.
