New Delhi, Sep 30: Pawan Kalyan’s latest action drama, They Call Him OG, continued its roaring run at the box office on Monday, collecting Rs 7.50 crore and taking its total to Rs 147.70 crore, just a few crores short of the Rs 150 crore mark. The film has now emerged as the biggest opener of 2025.

Directed by Sujeeth and produced by D. V. V. Danayya, the film had a stellar start, earning Rs 70 crore on opening day including paid previews. It maintained momentum over the weekend with Rs 18.45 crore on Friday, Rs 18.50 crore on Saturday, and Rs 18.50 crore on Sunday, before Monday’s collection brought it closer to the Rs 150 crore milestone.

The blockbuster debut has already surpassed Pawan Kalyan’s previous film, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which had earned Rs 34 crore on its first day. With Rs 90 crore earned in the opening weekend alone, OG has outshone other major releases of 2025, including Rajinikanth’s Coolie (Rs 65 crore), Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava (Rs 31 crore), and debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara (Rs 21.5 crore).

They Call Him OG features Pawan Kalyan as OG, a retired gangster who returns to Bombay in 1993 after a decade-long disappearance to confront rival crime lord Omi Bhau, portrayed by Emraan Hashmi in his Telugu debut. The supporting cast includes Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Prakash Raj.

Critic Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV remarked, “The Telugu superstar goes full tilt at powering an erratic screenplay that delivers an abundance of superficial style. The film has plenty of arrows in its quiver but all of them hit their intended targets. But if you are a Pawan Kalyan fan, that lacuna is unlikely to take anything away from the sheen that the star possesses.”

With collections still rising, They Call Him OG is on track to solidify Pawan Kalyan’s 2025 as a record-breaking year at the box office.
