Maharashtra man brutally murdered in front of children over business dispute; three arrested

Mumbai, Oct 3: A horrifying incident unfolded in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, where a three-year-old boy and his 13-year-old brother witnessed their father, Syed Imran Shafiq, being brutally attacked and killed over an alleged old business dispute.

The incident took place near the railway station on Wednesday. Shafiq had gone out with his children when a car intercepted his auto in the Silk Mill Colony area. Around five to six men emerged from the vehicle, dragged Shafiq and his children out, and unleashed a violent assault.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers chopped off Shafiq’s fingers, slashed his wrist, and beat him repeatedly on the head and neck. He was then stabbed multiple times and left to die under a foot overbridge.

Police believe the attack was motivated by a long-standing rivalry over a gas business dispute. Three suspects were arrested within nine hours of the incident.

The main accused, Mujeeb Don, reportedly has multiple prior criminal cases registered against him. The two others arrested are Mujeeb’s brother, Saddam Hussain Moinuddin, and his brother-in-law, Sheikh Irfan Sheikh Suleman.

Authorities have launched further investigations to apprehend any remaining accomplices and understand the full scope of the dispute behind this shocking murder.
