Sunil Joshi steps down as Punjab Kings spin bowling coach

Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct 7: Former India off-spinner Sunil Joshi has stepped down from his role as spin bowling coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Punjab Kings citing personal reasons.

The 55-year-old Joshi, who joined Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2023, was part of the team that reached the final earlier this year. “He will be leaving the Punjab side as he wants to spend more time with his family in Bangalore,” an IPL source told PTI.

Joshi had previously been a part of Punjab Kings’ coaching staff during Anil Kumble’s tenure as head coach. Beyond IPL coaching, he has served as India’s chief selector and as a member of the senior selection panel.

As a player, Joshi represented India in 15 Tests and 69 ODIs between 1996 and 2001, earning recognition for his skill as a left-arm spinner.
