Bennett to be Honoured in San Francisco

London, Feb 12 (IANS) California residents are set to honour the 50th anniversary of Tony Bennett's hit song "I Left My Heart" in San Francisco with a city-wide tribute.

The 85-year-old recorded the popular tune in 1962 and now local lawmakers are holding a public sing-along at the City Hall Rotunda to celebrate its origin Feb 14.

According to contactmusic.com, Mayor Ed Lee has asked every radio station to play "I Left My Heart" at 12 p.m.

It is not yet known whether Bennett will participate in the festivities, but he will be in town to perform at a benefit concert for heart research at the Fairmont Hotel.
