Young athlete from Mangaluru, Nihal Kamal, will represent India at the 3rd Asian Youth Games

Bahrain, Oct 16: Nihal Kamal, a talented young athlete from Mangaluru, has been selected for the Indian athletics team to participate in the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain from October 22 to 31.

Over 12 days, in an Olympic-style sports extravaganza, 8,000 young athletes from 45 Asian countries will compete in various events.

Nihal will represent India in the 100m race and the 1000m medley relay. Currently, after participating in the 40th National Junior Athletics Championship in Bhubaneswar Odisha, Nihal is undergoing training at the National Coaching Camp in Delhi. He also received training earlier this month at the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Bengaluru Campus. He is the only athlete from Karnataka selected for Indian athletics for 3rd Asian Youth Games.

Nihal, a class 12 student at Delhi Public School in Kuwait, has demonstrated his athletic talent both at school and national levels in India and Kuwait. Nihal’s remarkable talent and dedication in athletics have earned him this prestigious opportunity to represent India on an international platform.

Nihal Kamal is son of Mohammed Kamal & Raheena Kamal residents of Mohtisham Fernhill, Nanthur, Mangaluru.
