Dubai, Oct 17: As Diwali 2025 approaches, the city is preparing for one of its grandest festive seasons yet. With its population surpassing seven million and nearly two million Indian expatriates calling Dubai home, the festival has become a major cultural celebration across the emirate.
This year, celebrations will light up major locations including Souk Al Seef, Global Village, Burj Khalifa, and Dubai Festival City Mall. Streets, shopping malls, and cultural venues will dazzle with traditional décor, food festivals, and performances that bring the Indian community together while inviting participation from all residents and visitors.

Dubai’s government has emphasized that while fireworks will illuminate the city skies, they are strictly limited to official, licensed venues. Private sale or use of fireworks remains prohibited, with violators facing up to three months’ imprisonment or fines of up to AED 5,000. Licensed organizers must secure prior approval from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority before conducting any display.
Authorities have scheduled official fireworks at Al Seef on October 17 at 9 PM and at Global Village on October 18, 19, 24, and 25 at 9 PM. Dubai Police and the Department of Economy and Tourism will monitor the venues to ensure safety and crowd control.
Among the main highlights is the Noor: Festival of Lights, held from October 17 to 19 at Souk Al Seef. Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment in partnership with the Indian Consulate, the event will feature live music, cultural performances, food stalls, art exhibits, and fireworks over Dubai Creek.
Beyond the official venues, areas like Meena Bazaar and Karama are expected to be abuzz with lights, sweet shops, and festive shopping. Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa will also feature themed light projections and musical fountain shows.
Authorities have reminded residents to celebrate responsibly, maintain cleanliness, and respect public peace during the festival. With vibrant displays, community spirit, and a commitment to safety, Dubai’s Diwali 2025 is set to blend tradition with modern splendour, lighting up the city in true festive harmony.
