Korgao–Parsem road still in disrepair despite CM’s assurance, locals voice frustration

Korgao, Oct 18: A week after the Chief Minister promised repairs to the damaged Korgao–Parsem road within 15 days, commuters continue to face daily hazards due to large, unrepaired potholes. The stretch remains riddled with craters, forcing motorists to navigate dangerously around them.

Local residents and regular commuters have expressed disappointment, alleging that the Public Works Department (PWD) has diverted its attention to the widening of the 15-metre Morjim road, sidelining urgent patchwork needed on the Korgao–Parsem route.

“This road has become a nightmare. The promise was made loud and clear, but nothing has changed. It feels like our safety is not a priority,” said a resident of Parsem.

The delay has sparked fresh concerns ahead of the upcoming festive traffic, with locals urging authorities to act before accidents occur or the situation worsens due to further rain.
