Goa, Oct 19: As Goa prepares for the long Diwali weekend, the state’s popular coastal belt is bracing for another round of sleepless nights dominated by booming basslines and high-powered sound systems. Villages such as Chapora, Vagator, Baga, and Anjuna are once again gearing up for a string of music events, continuing a tourist-season tradition of noise, late-night chaos, and marathon parties.
What should have been a time for family gatherings and festive calm is instead turning into a week-long sonic siege. Authorities have claimed to monitor decibel levels and warned of hefty penalties for violations, but the vibrant party culture appears set to return stronger than ever.

This Diwali stretch, from October 17 to 25, is packed with multiple events, even as domestic travel may see a dip due to families celebrating at home. From Stomp Experience 22.0 and Full Spectrum 65.2 to Re-Psych 25.0 and Chapora Dance Ritual 8.0, the coastal villages are expected to once again be at the centre of loud music and non-stop parties.
Flyers and online promotions promise “psychedelic journeys” and “non-stop trance till sunrise.” In Vagator, Amalgamation 10.0 will be followed by Bassline Travellers 20.0, while Baga is hosting a “Dance Under the Lights” event. Organisers of Bassline highlight “international and homegrown psytrance acts” at an “iconic riverside venue,” promising “deep grooves, psychedelic journeys, and non-stop energy.”
Even after Diwali fireworks fade, the noise will likely persist. The Sound of Estuary 59.0, scheduled for October 25, describes itself as a “non-stop seaside trance till sunrise,” featuring DJ performances, pyrotechnics, LED shows, and immersive visuals. Organisers tout it as “the ultimate celebration Goa’s underground scene has to offer.”
Residents and tourists alike should brace for high-decibel nights as Goa’s coastal villages once again become the epicentre of Diwali revelry.
