Dubai, Oct 19: As Diwali celebrations begin across India and among the global Indian diaspora, leaders and diplomatic missions around the world have extended warm wishes, underscoring themes of peace, prosperity, and international friendship.

UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum greeted all those observing the festival, both in the UAE and worldwide.

“Warmest wishes and greetings to those celebrating Diwali in the UAE and around the world. May this festival of lights bring peace, safety, and prosperity to you and your loved ones. Happy Diwali,” he posted on X.

In New Delhi, the Singapore High Commission joined in the celebrations by creating floral rangoli and lighting lamps at the mission premises. Sharing images of the festivities, the High Commission posted on X:

“A very happy #Diwali to all! May this Diwali season illuminate your homes with happiness, peace, and prosperity. Best wishes from the Singapore High Commission.”

The Iranian Embassy in India also conveyed Diwali greetings to the Indian people and government. The embassy highlighted the shared goodwill between the two nations.

“We extend our warmest greetings and best wishes to the people and Government of India on the joyous occasion of Diwali. May this festival of lights bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to the people of India and strengthen the bonds of friendship between our two nations,” the embassy said in a message on X.

Diwali celebrations in India began with Dhanteras on Saturday, with the main festival being observed on Monday, marked by lighting lamps, exchanging sweets, and performing traditional rituals.
