Deoria, Oct 10: In a shocking turn of events, a 32-year-old orchestra performer in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district allegedly castrated his partner after discovering he had raped his six-year-old daughter, before taking his own life hours later, police reported.

The man, who had been living separately from his wife, rented a room and shared it with 35-year-old Rambabu Yadav, with whom he developed a close personal relationship over time, authorities said. The incident came to light after allegations surfaced that Yadav had assaulted the man's daughter during her visit to her father's residence.

Enraged upon learning of the assault, the father confronted Yadav, leading to a violent clash where he severed his partner's private parts. Yadav, critically injured, was initially treated at Deoria Medical College before being transferred to a hospital in Gorakhpur, where he remains under police custody.

A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered against Yadav based on the father's complaint. During interrogation, Yadav revealed details of their relationship, sparking intense social scrutiny for the father.

Overwhelmed, the father was found dead by hanging in his room early Friday morning. Additional Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Singh confirmed the body was recovered and sent for post-mortem. Investigations are ongoing to determine contributing factors.

The child has been placed with her maternal grandparents and is receiving medical care and counseling. Forensic evidence from the scene and the child's medical examination are being analyzed.
