Agra, Oct 25: Tragedy struck Agra on Friday night when a speeding car ran over five people and left at least three others injured near the Nagla Budhi area, officials said.

According to police, the Tata Nexon first collided with a bike and a divider before veering off the road and hitting a group of people standing roadside. The driver lost control and finally rammed into a wall, leaving the car completely mangled. Visuals from the scene showed shattered windows and crushed headlights.

The victims have been identified as Babli (33), Bhanu Pratap (25), Kamal (23), Krishna (20), and Bantesh (21). The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and are undergoing treatment.

An eyewitness said he was sitting in his shop when he saw the speeding car and heard a loud crash. “We pulled people out from under the car. The injured were in very critical condition and were taken to the hospital,” he said.

Angry locals reportedly pulled the driver out of the vehicle and thrashed him before police arrested him and seized the car. Authorities are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the incident.
