Fatorda (Goa), Oct 25: After a demanding run in continental competition, FC Goa return to home turf with their sights set on defending their Super Cup 2025 crown. The reigning champions will launch their campaign against Jamshedpur FC — the very team they defeated in last year’s final — at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, on Sunday.
Drawn into a challenging Group B, the Gaurs face a mix of top domestic opponents, including Durand Cup winners NorthEast United FC and I-League champions Inter Kashi, alongside Jamshedpur. With all group-stage matches scheduled in Fatorda, FC Goa will enjoy consistent home support, while matches from other groups will run concurrently in Bambolim.

The Super Cup marks a welcome return to familiar surroundings for Manolo Marquez’s side, following a tough stretch in the AFC Champions League Two, where they have completed the first half of their group fixtures. That experience — combined with a strong pre-season — leaves Goa in excellent shape compared to several Indian clubs who are only now returning from lengthy off-seasons.
Marquez’s approach of structured possession, rapid transitions, and tactical discipline remains the foundation of Goa’s play. The coach will look to channel the electric Fatorda atmosphere to inspire another deep run in the competition.
With three high-stakes games scheduled within a week, the Gaurs will need to balance intensity and rotation before they resume continental duty with an away clash against Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
For FC Goa, Sunday’s opener is about more than just three points — it’s the beginning of a mission to reaffirm their domestic dominance, delight their home fans, and build the momentum needed for another season of glory.
