Beltangady, Oct 29: Acting on credible information, Beltangady police raided an illegal beef processing unit operating inside a private rubber plantation shed near Bedrabettu in Indabettu village. During the operation, police arrested two accused and seized 91 kg of beef along with equipment used for meat processing.
The arrested have been identified as Abdul Nazir (36) of Bedrabettu, Indabettu village, and Zakariya (36) of Mittabagilu village.
Under the guidance of Inspector Subbapur Math, the raid was conducted by PSI Anand M of Beltangady police station and PSI Oman of Venoor police station, along with their team.

According to police sources, the accused had allegedly been stealing cattle, slaughtering them illegally, and selling the meat. Based on confirmed information, police raided the spot around 2:30 pm on October 27 and recovered 91 kg of beef, a knife, and other related items.
A case has been registered at the Beltangady police station under the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2020.
