Prakash Raj, Corrine Rasquinha among Rajyotsava Award winners from coastal Karnataka

Mangaluru, Oct 30: Several distinguished personalities from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have been selected for the 2025 Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, announced by the state government.

From Dakshina Kannada, Sindhu Gujaran has been honoured in the field of folklore, while noted actor Prakash Raj has been recognised for his contribution to cinema.

In the field of social work, Corrine Rasquinha from Dakshina Kannada and Dr N Sitaram Shetty from Udupi district have been chosen for the prestigious honour.

Umesh Pambada has been selected in the complex category, and B M Haneef has been recognised in the media category.

The Yakshagana field saw awards for Kota Suresh Bangera and Airbailu Anand Shetty from Udupi district, while Mime Ramesh from Dakshina Kannada has been honoured in the Rangabhoomi (theatre) category.

Zakaria Jokatte, founder of Al Muzain Company in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, and president of Mangaluru-based M Friends Charitable Trust, has been named as the recipient in the non-resident Kannadiga category of Karnataka Rajyotsava Awards for 2025–26.
