Madhuri Dixit faces backlash for late arrival and disappointing Canada show

Toronto, Nov 4: Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit, currently on her North America tour, has come under heavy fire from fans after allegedly arriving three hours late to an event in Canada. The show, which many expected to feature her iconic dance performances, reportedly turned out to be a chat session with only brief performances — leaving the audience disappointed and furious.

Social media erupted after a user, Parwaiz Dhanani, posted a video of Madhuri performing a short segment to her popular track Mera Piya Ghar Aaya from the 1995 film Yaraana. Accompanying the video, he wrote, “What an absolute shit show of a night... and they get PAID for that?”

Soon, several attendees flooded the comment section with criticism — not just directed at the actress, but also at the event organisers. “Everyone please report the organisers to Consumer Protection Ontario. This falls under ‘misrepresentation’. They gave false information about the event,” one user complained.

Another attendee shared, “This was the worst show ever. So unorganised! The advertisements never said it would just be a chat with a few seconds of dancing. People were yelling for refunds and walking out midway. It was poorly organised and disappointing.”

Fans also expressed anger over Madhuri’s delayed appearance. “I left at 11:05 pm as I had work the next day. The show was supposed to start at 7:30 pm, but she only arrived at 10 pm. It was disrespectful to the audience’s time,” another user wrote.

While Madhuri or her team are yet to respond to the controversy, her earlier post announcing the tour had promised fans “an unforgettable celebration of dance, music, and memories.”

The incident has sparked a heated debate online, with many calling for greater transparency from event organisers and expressing disillusionment with the actress’s much-hyped international tour.
