Israel rules out Turkish troops in Gaza, says ‘No Turkish Boots on the ground’

Daijiworld Media Network - Jerusalem

Jerusalem, Nov 10: Israel has made it clear that Turkish soldiers will not be part of any multinational force that may take over administrative control in Gaza once the Israeli military withdraws.

“There will be no Turkish boots on the ground,” government spokesperson Shosh Bedrosian told reporters on Sunday, stressing that Israel opposes Ankara’s participation in the proposed international force, which has not yet been formed.

Earlier, US Ambassador to Turkiye Tom Barrack had indicated at a Manama security conference that Turkiye would participate in the force.

Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance said last month that Ankara could have a “constructive role” to play but emphasized that Washington would not impose foreign troops on Israel “on their soil.”
