Mumbai, Nov 11: Veteran Bollywood actor Prem Chopra, 92, has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai due to a viral infection and age-related complications, doctors confirmed on Monday. The celebrated actor, known for his iconic villainous roles, is said to be stable and recovering well.

“He is a known case of cardiac ailment and also had a viral infection, which affected his lungs. He is not in the ICU; he is in the ward,” said Dr Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital while speaking to PTI. “He is 92 years old and has age-related issues, so his recovery takes a little longer. He should be fine in another three to four days and go home,” the doctor added.

Chopra was admitted two days ago under the care of cardiologist Dr Nitin Gokhale.

Actor Sharman Joshi, who is married to Prem Chopra’s daughter Prerana Chopra, also shared a health update, saying, “All good, thank you, just some tests, back tomorrow.”

Prem Chopra, one of Hindi cinema’s most enduring screen villains, has appeared in over 380 films across six decades, with memorable performances in classics like Bobby, Do Raaste, and Kati Patang.
