UAE launches three-day nationwide field exercise to boost emergency preparedness

Daijiworld Media Network - Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, Nov 11: The UAE Ministry of Interior has announced a three-day nationwide field exercise from November 11 to 13, designed to enhance coordination and readiness among security, police, and emergency response teams across all seven emirates. Residents have been urged to cooperate fully to ensure smooth operations and public safety.

Scope and Timing

The exercise will involve movement of police vehicles, military units, and aircraft across multiple locations, forming a large-scale coordinated drill. This initiative follows previous nationwide exercises, including last year’s ‘Resilience 1’ drill and an October field exercise in Ras Al Khaimah focused on natural disaster and crisis preparedness.

Public Guidance and Safety Measures

The Ministry has issued clear instructions for residents during the drill:

• Do not take photographs or record videos of operations.
• Avoid approaching or entering exercise sites to prevent obstruction.
• Motorists must give way to police and military convoys.

Authorities emphasized that public cooperation is crucial for the exercise to proceed safely and efficiently, ensuring both the protection of residents and the smooth execution of the drill.

Purpose and Significance

The exercise aims to simulate real-world emergency scenarios, helping authorities identify operational gaps, improve inter-agency collaboration, and strengthen the UAE’s ability to respond effectively to both natural and man-made crises.

With participation across all emirates, the drill underscores the UAE’s commitment to national safety, crisis preparedness, and high-level emergency response readiness.
