Hyderabad, Nov 18: Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni on Monday revealed that cyber fraudsters had trapped one of his family members in “digital captivity” for two days nearly six months ago. He was speaking at a press conference alongside Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar when he shared details of the shocking incident.

Recalling the ordeal, Nagarjuna said, “About six months ago, an incident took place at my own home. One of my family members was kept under digital confinement for two days. Fraudsters try to trap us, identify our weaknesses, and intimidate us.”

He said that the situation was resolved after senior police officers intervened. No formal complaint was filed, he clarified while speaking to PTI.

Nagarjuna made the revelation during a press conference concerning the arrest of Md Ravi, who had been operating websites streaming pirated movies.

Urging the public to stay vigilant, the actor said, “People should be cautious about fraudulent websites. Telangana Police have done a commendable job by arresting the accused. Cracking down on such piracy helps not just the Telugu film industry but benefits all film industries across languages.”
