Mumbai, Nov 19: Nearly a month after embracing parenthood, actress Parineeti Chopra and her husband, AAP leader Raghav Chadha, have officially introduced their baby boy to the world — along with his serene and meaningful name. The couple, who welcomed their first child on October 20, 2025, had earlier shared the happy news on Instagram, writing, “He’s finally here! Our baby boy. And we literally can’t remember life before.”

Fans had eagerly awaited a closer glimpse, and on Wednesday, the couple fulfilled that anticipation with a tender photograph of their newborn. The image was accompanied by a poetic Sanskrit line:

“Jalasya rupam, premasya svarupam — tatra eva Neer. Our hearts found peace in an eternal drop of life. We named him Neer — pure, divine, limitless.”

The name Neer, derived from Sanskrit and Hindi, signifies “water” — a symbol of purity, life, fluidity and the essence of existence. A source told ETimes that the name also beautifully blends their identities: “‘Nee’ from Parineeti, and ‘R’ from Raghav — together forming Neer.”

Parineeti and Raghav’s journey began in London, where a chance meeting at an event turned into a heartfelt connection. Speaking on Raj Shamani’s podcast, the actress recalled how a simple breakfast plan changed everything. “I had no idea who he was or what he did. I looked him up after breakfast,” she shared. “We realised in days, not weeks, that we would get married.”

The couple got engaged in May 2023 at New Delhi’s Kapurthala House and later tied the knot in a grand traditional ceremony at The Leela Palace, Udaipur, in the presence of close family and friends.

Parineeti was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila. She had wrapped up filming for a web project before announcing her pregnancy, and updates on its release are awaited.

With baby Neer’s arrival, the couple begins a new chapter — one filled with joy, gratitude and the gentle calmness their son’s name embodies.
