Chennai, Nov 20: Anticipation for director Jayan Nambiar’s action-packed Vilaayath Budha reached a new high on Thursday as the makers unveiled the pulsating new track ‘Spirit of Marayoor’, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead.
Prithviraj took to social media to share the song link with fans, writing: “Spirit of Marayoor! Out now. Vilaayath Budha from tomorrow!” The lively number, composed by Jakes Bejoy with lyrics by Bhuvaneswaran, features vocals by Bhuvaneswaran himself along with Akhil J Chand.
The film sees Prithviraj playing the intriguing character Double Mohan, with the movie set to hit screens on November 21 after securing a U/A certificate from the censor board. A recently released teaser has already intensified buzz around the film. It opens with two police officers discussing Mohan’s notorious reputation as a key player in sandalwood smuggling, even dubbing him “Kutty Veerappan.”

Prithviraj’s Mohan comes across as bold, witty, and unafraid of confrontation. In one much-talked-about moment, when a cop compares him to Pushpa, Mohan quips, “He is international. I’m just local.” The teaser also hints at a romantic thread in Mohan’s life, with his partner standing firmly by him. It concludes with Mohan confidently asserting his resilience to those who underestimate him.
Produced by Sandip Senan and A. V. Anoop and written by G. R. Indugopan and Rajesh Pinnadan, Vilaayath Budha has already generated substantial excitement. The film boasts cinematography by Arvind S. Kashyap and Renadive, editing by Sreejith Sarang, art direction by Jithu Sebastian, and action choreography by Rajasekhar, Kalai Kingson, Supreme Sundar, and Mahesh Mathew.
The release of the new track has only further fuelled expectations for what promises to be one of the season’s standout action entertainers.
