SJEC completes first phase of international projects with Sheffield Hallam University

Mangaluru, Nov 25: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), proudly announces the successful completion of the first phase of two international collaborative student projects namely HiveLink and Astraios, conducted in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), UK. The projects took place between February and August 2025, marking a significant milestone in SJEC’s expanding global academic collaborations.

Five students from SJEC are Joywin Bennis, Joshua Q Albuquerque, Vyasa M Nayak, Rynor G Pinto and Gianna A Lewis worked across the two project tracks, HiveLink and Astraios, contributing innovative ideas, technical solutions, and collaborative research outcomes.

The projects were guided by an experienced team of faculty mentors:

HiveLink mentors

• Glenson Toney, assistant professor, ECE (Former), SJEC

Astraios mentor

• Dr Purushothama Chippar, vice principal & dean R&D, SJEC

This collaboration reflects the growing academic partnership between SJEC and Sheffield Hallam University, enabling students to engage in international research, multicultural teamwork, and hands-on project development.
