Hyderabad, Nov 30: The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially granted director Boyapati Sreenu’s high-octane action drama Akhanda 2: Thaandavam a U/A certificate, paving the way for its worldwide release on December 5. The film, led by actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, has a confirmed runtime of 166 minutes (2 hours and 44 minutes).

Producers 14 Reels Plus announced the certification on Sunday through their X handle, writing, “U/A for #Akhanda2. The Thaandavam shall rule the world from December 5th. #Akhanda2 MASSIVE THAANDAVAM TEASER out now!”

The update follows the recent release of a new teaser, which the production house described as showcasing “THE DIVINE FURY.” The teaser depicts enemies plotting against India, countered by Balakrishna’s character—portrayed as a fierce, spiritually empowered sadhu—who declares, “Where there is a bad, parallely, there is a God! Be brave.” The footage hints at intense action sequences and Balakrishna’s clash with dark sorcerers aiding the nation’s foes.

The sequel, directed by Boyapati Sreenu—renowned for crafting mass-action blockbusters—promises a larger-than-life narrative on a grander scale. Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner and presented by M. Tejaswini Nandamuri, the film is poised to be a major theatrical spectacle.

S. Thaman’s powerful background score is expected to amplify the film’s energy, adding to Balakrishna’s electrifying, spiritually charged screen presence that has already generated buzz among fans and cinephiles.

The cast features Samyuktha in the female lead role, with Aadhi Pinisetty taking on a strong, impactful character and Harshali Malhotra in a key supporting role. Cinematography is handled by C. Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detakae, editing by Tammiraju, and production design by A.S. Prakash.
