Mangaluru: Yenepoya Nursing College celebrates its 20th Graduation Day

Mangaluru, Dec 1: The Yenepoya Nursing College successfully celebrated its 20th Graduation Day on November 29 at the Yendurance Zone Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) campus, Deralakatte.

The ceremony, presided over by dean Dr Leena KC, saw degrees conferred upon a batch of 177 diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate students, with medals also presented to academically outstanding individuals.

The auspicious event began with a spiritual note as Munaveera, a BSc Nursing student, recited verses from the Holy Quran. The event featured Dr Neerja Sood, director, School of Health Sciences, IGNOU, New Delhi, as the chief guest, who focused her address on preparing graduates as ‘21st-century nurses’.

She strongly emphasized the need for critical thinking, decision-making, communication, and employability skills, alongside stressing the importance of continuous education and seizing every professional opportunity. The guest of honor, Dr B H Sripathi Rao, pro vice-chancellor of the University, inspired the graduates by highlighting that success is achieved through clear vision, dedication, adherence to ethical values, and effective time management.

The programme was initiated with a welcome by vice principal Dr Priya Reshma Aranha and concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr Binsha Pappachan, HOD of mental health nursing.
