Mumbai, Dec 1: Nikhil Nanda Motion Pictures LLP launched the teaser of their upcoming feature film Akhri Sawal during the Closing Ceremony of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

Actor Amit Sadh, who plays a pivotal role in the film, described the experience as “both humbling and inspiring.” He added, “Every film begins with a leap of faith, and this moment felt like our first collective step. I am grateful for the encouragement we received and look forward to starting the shoot in December with passion and dedication.”

The teaser was revealed in the presence of industry dignitaries and key members of the film fraternity. Highlighting that the film is “based on true events,” the teaser delves into lesser-known conversations and ideological tensions from India’s pre-Independence era. A striking sequence shows Mahatma Gandhi meeting Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), as they discuss ideology, purpose, and the reasons the Sangh did not align with the Indian National Congress, leaving viewers with a sense of unresolved ideological conflict.

Producer Nikhil Nanda expressed his gratitude, saying, “Presenting the teaser on the IFFI stage has been an honour. This moment marks the beginning of an important journey for our team, and we look forward to bringing this story to life with sincerity and commitment.”

Directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang, Akhri Sawal features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Amit Sadh, Namashi Chakraborty, and Tridha Choudhury. The film is set to begin shooting in December.
